NON-DESTRUCTIVE TESTING
Non-destructive testing (NDT) refers to a series of examinations aimed at detecting and identifying defects in a material. The tests are conducted using methods that do not require the destruction or removal of samples from the structure being examined.
PMI (Positive Material Identification)
DOMIZI is capable of performing PMI on metallic alloys prior to processing using the THERMO SCIENTIFIC Niton XL2-GOLDD Analyser portable spectrograph. This device utilizes X-ray fluorescence (XRF) and, thanks to GOLDD technology (Geometrically Optimized Large Area Drift Detector), the XL2-980 analyzer can analyze light elements such as S-sulfur, P-phosphorus, Si-silicon, Al-aluminum, and Mg-magnesium.
After the PMI, a test report is issued that certifies the successful identification of the material.
PENETRANT TESTING
Penetrant testing is a method particularly suitable for identifying and sizing surface discontinuities such as cracks, porosity, folds, micro-shrinkages, etc., with high accuracy. This method finds extensive application in the petrochemical, oil & gas, and aerospace industries, as well as in general industry, on a wide variety of materials (primarily metallic).
At Domizi, penetrant testing is performed by qualified personnel of Level 1 and/or Level 2, in accordance with ASNT-TC-1A and ISO 9712 standards.
RADIOGRAPHY
DOMIZI, in collaboration with specialized external laboratories, is capable of conducting radiographic inspections in compliance with current regulations (ASME, EN, etc.).
